WELCOME TO VISCON

Viscon is the only fuel blending component verified by the California Air Resources Board as a Diesel Emission Control Strategy (DECS) to be both a Level 1 control strategy for PM emissions from diesel engines and to reduce the carbon footprint caused by diesel engines. For the first time since Rudolph Diesel invented the compression ignition engine over 100 years ago, a technology, Viscon fuel treatment has demonstrated to improve the combustion efficiency by modifying the physical, in contrast to chemical, properties of diesel fuel. Click here to view an animation segment of how Viscon CO2 reduction technology impacts the internal combustion process.

Scientific evidence shows that blending Viscon fuel additive in diesel reduces a wide range of harmful emissions, in addition to PM and CO2, making Viscon a unique tool in the global fight against release of greenhouse gases. Over the past several years, the Viscon fuel additive has been used to treat more than 8.5 billion gallons of diesel fuel, equal to the reduction of over 3.8 million tons of CO2 emitted into the air. This technology, although new to diesel and fuel oil applications, has been used in gasoline as a fuel additive since the 1930′s.

Viscon Combustion Emission Carbon Dioxide Avoidance Credits

High Molecular Weight Polymer Enriched Diesel (HMWPED)

Viscon combined with diesel results in a 5.41% reduction in CO². These reductions are verified.

Viscon Carbon Credits are considered a Super Offset Credit because Viscon also reduces other GHG emissions.
